In April 2021, the Martin Bauer Group and all other companies in the global Group known as the nature network® signed the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). This non-binding pact between the UN and more than 12,000 signatories worldwide is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.
In a letter of commitment to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the Martin Bauer Group has committed to take concrete and effective human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption action. The Martin Bauer Group reports regularly on its progress and the achievement of its goals in its Sustainability Report.
“By joining the UNGC, we have committed to ensuring that our business operations contribute towards sustainable development and making the world a better place,” said Anne Wedel-Klein, Member of the Management Board of MB-Holding and great-granddaughter of the company’s founder Martin Bauer.
The Martin Bauer Group acknowledges that our parent company MB-Holding GmbH & Co. KG participates in the UN Global Compact, and we support the Ten Principles and advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as broader UN goals. We consolidate our support for this initiative fully under the commitment of MB-Holding GmbH & Co. KG. Therefore, we do not participate in UN Global Compact activities nor do we participate in activities of a Global Compact Local Network.
