MartinBauer Germany has now received a Gold medal from business sustainability assessor EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive time. That puts it in the top five percent of sustainable companies globally.
MartinBauer even managed to improve its sustainability performance, gaining an overall score of 78 points, which is eight points more than last year. EcoVadis rankings are based on an independent analysis of the company’s performance in the key themes of Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. MartinBauer Germany received consistently high scores in each category, with particular progress in the area of Ethics, where its score leaped from 40 points to 70.
Shouldering greater responsibility
This positive development did not come about by chance. MartinBauer has shouldered greater responsibility with its consistent implementation of the due diligence requirements of the Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and its improved compliance processes. Its introduction of new health and safety measures and a complaints system also enabled it to perform better in the area of Labor & Human Rights, with an increase of 10 points up to a total of 80.
A globally recognized standard
The EcoVadis rating is one of the world’s most renowned sustainability assessments. More than 130,000 companies worldwide use the EcoVadis methodology to assess and continually improve their sustainability action in accordance with the relevant recommendations. The methodology incorporates international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000.
